Track where your assets are

Initially, it all started with finding people through mobile phones, then it came for cars and other vehicles. GPS has come a long way since then and in most first world countries, the GPS system has become a necessity in doing business and in ensuring safety.

The simple GPS tracker has evolved into something that can be used on a wider scope. With the introduction of gps fleet tracking, businessmen can now track where their business vehicles are and where their stuff and other assets are going. By tracking your assets, one can rest assured that if the fleet encounters problems, then a solution would be readily available for it.

But of course, assets don't just mean vehicles and other things. This can be useful for your teenage drivers or your kids when they're out with their friends or when they go camping or night outs. At least we're assured that we can very well locate them when needed.

Don't you just love technology? Others may view it as obstructive but personally, this is the kind of technology that I wanna be equipped with soon!

Happy weekend!

Trousers or Pants?

They're called trousers by the Brits and pants by the Americans. But what does it take to say that you have a good pair?

240x180

If you have the makings of a TV commercial artist or you have a dream of creating one, now is the best time to do so because Dockers is sponsoring a TV commercial contest that is open to everyone. There have already been a number of entries that submitted and so far, I have this as one of my favorites:

This and the rest of the entries are all worth-watching. Truly there are a lot of talented soon-to-be TV commercial directors out there waiting to be discovered and be highlighted.

The Dockers contest is open to candidates 18 years old and above from the United States, who is required to make a 30-second TV commercial for one of the world's leading brand of pants or trousers. Originality and creativity will play major key roles in determining the best among all the entries. The winner of this fun and exciting Dockers contest will have the chance for his or her commercial to be aired on the June 13 episode of The Jay Leno Show at NBC. Wouldn't that be exciting?

This is a fun contest that I'm sure will tickle your imagination and bring the creative god or goddess in you. No matter how you term it, be it trousers or pants, being part of the promotion of one of the world's best brands would be an honor. So what are you waiting for? Join now!

Litratong Pinoy: Tubig (Water)

(Forgive me if I wasn't able to join last week. I was just really busy with a lot of stuff.

When I saw the theme for this week, this was the first picture that came across my mind. This is one of the favorite photos that I took during our Subic trip. Basti was very happy that day because he got to swim again. DS simply loves to swim.

I was quite surprised with how this picture turned out. I wasn't expecting to take this kind of shot. I guess it would be nice if I could spend some time learning more about this kind of shots in the near future. )

HSMS: Catch Up Time

I was disappointed that I was not able to complete the 7 themes involving the dwarves. I got 3 out of the 7 though so here they are:

A Harrowing Experience

I was never a fan of horror movies for the simple reason that I do get nightmares whenever I watch them. But there are times when I'm enticed to watch - I just make sure that I do it in the mornings so that I could complete forget all about it when night time comes. I know I'm such a coward but at least I'm honest about it.

Anyway, I was able to watch the trailer of Frontier(s) online and it has already been shown in theaters last May 9 - not here in Manila but in only 10 cities in the US with select theater listings. The DVD was already released last May 13th and this movie is actually unrated. For the first time, I've heard that this was shown uncut and uncensored despite the extremely gruesome scenes. I do not think that a movie of this nature will be approved for viewing in our local theaters here because of the very gory scenes. Knowing how "conservative" our ratings board is, this movie will have a hard time passing the board to the dismay of a whole lot of horror movie fans out here.

While watching the Trailer, I felt giddy because a lot of the scenes were truly harrowing and was able to convince me that hell is something that we should not aim for as a final destination. I can't imagine myself going through all that gore and pain.

But for people who find suspenseful movies as fun and exciting, I'm sure they will all love to see this film in its entirety. The DVD version is already released so you can go grab bags of popcorn and soda and watch it with your friends and fill your living room with screams and shouts.

Catch up and some rants...

I can't seem to catch up with all the happenings around me for the past few days. I've almost gone berserk. It's just good that I was still able to hold on to dear sanity and here I am still alive and writing this post.

I am once again in the hunt for a new helper. My helper told me that she's going back to the province on Saturday - primarily because she's already gotten tired of taking care of my nephews. For the past couple of weeks the youngest that I have here has been whining and crying for no reason from the moment he wakes up. He's fed well, cleaned, etc. and yet he cries for hours. He's not even sick. The kids have been getting into my nerves the past couple of weeks too and I'm almost on the brink of losing it.

I was just disappointed because although I knew this was coming, she told me that she's going to give me at least 2 weeks notice before she leaves so that I could find a replacement. Then lo and behold, she told me tonight that she's leaving on Saturday for good. With all the schedules that have already been made, I think I would have to cancel my plans due to this.

I don't know what's happening but MH and MIL have been fighting almost every day about how the kids are being trained and taught. MIL comes to the rescue of the youngest whenever he cries. I don't like it and I really don't tolerate it because giving in to their whims and whines will not make them better children. These kids have such bad individual attitudes that no amount of whacking can actually tame them. They were used to being beaten up to follow their parents' orders. I don't beat them up but my throat is on the brink of breaking down again because no amount of sermons or questioning can make them better kids. I do whatever I can to the best of my ability to make them feel that this is their own house but it seems to me that they want me to give them away - and I am already contemplating on giving them back to social welfare.

There have been times last week when I lost it. I have already warned them how bad it can get when I get mad. I lashed out on everyone then left the house though it was already late. I just needed to breathe. I felt bad that I had to let it all out but I was glad that I did. It might have gotten worse if it didn't come to that point.

I am stressed because I have deadlines to beat for bill payments, I have a husband who doesn't care about how bad our finances are (with only me as the breadwinner of the family) and now, I need to find a new helper as soon as possible. This has been pretty exhausting for me already and I wonder what will happen next.

Until such time I'm able to provide myself with the answers, I know that my faith will lead me to the right direction.

Just rearranged

I decided to do some home furniture rearranging around the house so that I would have more space and that my little nook would, at least, look like it's clutter-free. But of course, with 5 kids at home, clutter-free is quite impossible to achieve.

First stop was the bedroom. I decided to put the TV inside the room so we thought of ways to accommodate the additional piece of appliance without cramping the space. We had to do some major rearranging and it's a good thing the efforts paid off. I have a better location for my workstation, my cabinets have been rearranged strategically and there's more space to walk around.

My next project would be my kitchen. Hopefully I'll be able to set aside a day for me to tend to it.

Rose from a friend

I'd like to thank Suzanne for this beautiful rose that she gave me for Mother's Day.

And I'm passing this on to all the mothers in my blogroll. Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Customer Service Part 2

HSMS: Race

A competition to see who is the fastest. Find a race in your space today.

They looked like they were racing to a finish line. These are the dolphins and the pseudo orca of Ocean Adventure during our weekend getaway there last April. I had fun watching them. They're one of the smartest brood of animals I've ever seen!

Award from an NFF

I was so ecstatic to see another award handed out to me by Pinky. And I learned a new a new acronym from her too. NFF - New-found [Blogging] Friend. Isn't she really so sweet? Thanks so much for the award! :)

She also asked me this question: Who or what influenced you to start blogging?

I did answer a meme quite similar to this the last time. I wrote about how I started blogging. You can find my story here.

No one really influenced me to blog but myself. Although I'm no prolific writer, I know I can send messages across by just being myself. I have a dramatic life that will fit any storyboard for a mini-series or telenovela. Somehow, I know people will be interested in what I have to say, or at least be interested in the little things I do. I may be wrong though because we can't please everyone. But what the heck, I enjoy what I do and I'm here to share my life's story with you with the hope that people will learn a thing or two from the mistakes I make, the stupid decisions I hand down, the bloopers in my life and the good experiences I encounter along the way.

HSMS: Device

A thing made or adapted for a particular purpose especially something mechanical or electrical.

This is one device I can't part with - my ever-reliable phone. When GPS becomes fully-functional and available here in Manila, this will serve as my GPS device! But for now, it's my companion when I'm bored, my way to keep in touch and a portable laptop when I need to go online.

HSMS:Lines

It's been a while since I last participated in Her Space:My Space photography meme. Hopefully this time I'll be able to participate on a regular basis just like what I do with my other memes.

Here's my take on the theme for today.

A mark or stroked shape - long in proportion to it's breadth. Find your lines.

What would you buy?

Wouldn't it be nice if you can find great weekly deals online and be able to maximize your purchasing power?

I am actually looking into buying some stuff since my brother will be sending out a balikbayan box for us. I have looked into buy.com and saw a couple of items I'd like to check out. For the items that I chose, I'm sure it's going to be really a best buy at buy.com.

What will you do with your tax rebate?

The US government gives out tax rebates to qualified taxpayers. How I wish there's a strong program like that over here but of course, it's easier said than done.
